‘Non-Union Union’ at Volkswagen Plant Loses Certification

A group billing itself as an alternative to the United Auto Workers union at the Volkswagen plant in Tennessee has failed to meet minimum enrollment standards under the German automaker’s internal labor policy.

When local UAW members want to know what’s happening in their local and what the issues are that bring them together – like who the best candidate for workers is in the upcoming election – there’s no one they trust more than their union local. “Over the past two days UAW Local 9 and UAW Local 1508 bargainers met in good faith with Honeywell to bargain a fair and equitable contract.

UAW members once again asked Honeywell to end its lockout and put our members back to work.

More than 50 Flint elementary school students will learn and grow in a loving environment this summer at a new Children’s Defense Fund Freedom School sponsored by the Cynthia Estrada Charity Fund.
