DETROIT – UAW President Bob King issued this statement regarding President Obama’s announcement on his support for marriage equality: “The UAW applauds President Obama’s remarks on same-sex marriage, and we regard it as a historic and courageous leap toward equality for all Americans. We oppose all discrimination and believe there is a definite connection between civil, human and workers’ rights. This belief continues to define us today. Tens of thousands of us have gathered in homes, union halls, places of worship, and on campuses all across the country. What you missed at our November meeting
Michigan Blue Cross provided information about upcoming changes in 2012 to our benefits. A potluck followed the meeting. Leftovers were donated to the strikers at UAW Local 2049 in Columbia City.
